Kayte Mills of Infantry Lacrosse

Kayte Mills is a New Fairfield High School alum who received All-Conference and All-State honors each year during her playing time from 2000-2004.

She continued her playing career at Western New England College, Mills was a four-year starter for both volleyball and lacrosse.  She had a very successful lacrosse career and was named first Team All-New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) three times. She was the first Golden Bear ever to score over 200 goals in her career and held the WNE records for goals in a game, season, and career upon graduation.


Early Coaching Career

After graduating Mills started her coaching career while earning her master’s degree at the University of Connecticut.  She was the head coach of the UConn club women's lacrosse team and spent a year as an assistant with the Huskies' varsity team.


Continued Coaching Achievements

Mills continued her coaching career after graduating with her master’s working at BlueStreak Sports Training, coaching lacrosse athletes from all over Fairfield County.  She continued from there back to her alma mater New Fairfield High School for two years.  She led the varsity girl's lacrosse team to the state quarterfinals in 2012.


Professional Coaching Level

Mills decided to enter college coaching after that and became the assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Western Connecticut University in the fall of 2012.  In her four-year tenure at WCSU Mills helped lead the Colonials to a 12-6 record in the Little East Conference (LEC) and three appearances in the conference tournament. She mentored many All-LEC players, ECAC All-Stars, and IWLCA All-Region players.

In 2016 Mills became the head women’s lacrosse coach at Post University where she remained for 5 seasons.  She helped develop this team over these 5 seasons to accomplish their first ever shutout victory, first double-digit victory, first playoff appearance, first playoff win, as well as many others. She mentored All-CACC players as well as All-CACC Academic players for multiple years.  In addition to coaching at Post University Mills also was involved in coaching with Westchester Elite Lacrosse Club.

In 2022 Mills left Post University to become a Key Account Manager for Lax.com where she is still currently working.  In addition to working at Lax.com she currently coaches Danbury youth lacrosse as well as helping with local high school teams in their off seasons.
